Privacy policy
Last updated 1 November 2026
This policy covers this website and Reveal Shorts, the tool They Were Us Once uses to post its films to its own accounts on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Reveal Shorts runs on one computer, only our own accounts are connected to it, and nobody else can sign up for it.
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics, advertising or forms. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical information such as IP addresses in order to serve the site and keep it secure.
What Reveal Shorts accesses
For our own accounts only, Reveal Shorts accesses:
- the sign-in each platform gives it, through that platform's own sign-in page;
- each account's name, handle, profile picture and number of followers;
- our own posts: the videos and text we upload, each post's status and link, and its totals of views, likes, comments and shares.
It does not read who commented or what they wrote, private messages, or the accounts of anyone else. On TikTok, it sends each film to our own account as a draft, which we then finish and post ourselves.
How that information is used and kept
We use this information only to post our films and to see how they are doing. It is kept on that one computer. Sign-ins and app secrets are encrypted by Windows so that only our user account there can read them. Post details and numbers are kept while a film stays in our library, or until we delete them.
We have no server of our own, and we do not sell or share this information. Videos and text go only to the platform they are posted to.
YouTube
Reveal Shorts uses YouTube API Services. Information handled through them is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy, and using YouTube through Reveal Shorts is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Access can be taken back at any time in Google's security settings.
Deleting data
Reveal Shorts holds only our own accounts' information, so it should hold nothing about you. If you think we hold information about you, or you want it deleted, email theywereusonce@gmail.com. We will delete it within 7 days and tell you when it is done.
An account connected to Reveal Shorts can be disconnected in the tool, which forgets its sign-in, or on the platform itself: in Facebook's Business Integrations settings, in Google's security settings, or in TikTok's settings for apps with access to the account. Deleting our copy of any information does not change anything on the platforms themselves.
